A message to parents and loved ones

If you’re reading this, chances are that your child or someone close to you is struggling with addiction. There’s no doubt that alcoholism and drug usage can totally disengage someone from reality, affecting not only the person themselves, but their entire family.

Habilitat promises to give your loved one an opportunity to realize self-respect, work ethic, and a healthy lifestyle; characteristics they lost sight of, or simply never developed.

Through Habilitat’s three-phased therapeutic process, an individual will learn the skills necessary to become leaders of their own life.

The Admission Process

National Admissions

1. A prospect MUST have a sincere desire to change.

2. The person seeking help must make contact with our admission staff. Although many loved ones may make the initial contact, consistent communication with the prospect themselves is a highly important facet of our extensive screening process. Admission staff are assigned prospects based on similarities of their prior lifestyle, drug of choice, etc.

3. Screening- During this stage, a prospect’s legal, medical and financial situations are discussed to determine whether or not they qualify for treatment.
The Prospect Application must be completed.

4. Travel arrangements are made – Habilitat personnel transport from the Honolulu Airport to Habilitat’s Facility upon arrival. Preferred arrival times are before 2:00 p.m. Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time. Click here for a list of items allowed upon entry.

Hawaii Admissions

1. A prospect MUST have a sincere desire to change.

3. Screening- During this stage, a prospect’s legal, medical and financial situations are discussed to determine whether or not they qualify for treatment.

4. An Arrival/Pick-up date is scheduled
Oahu – A specific date and time to arrive at Habilitat will be given to the prospect. If these specifications aren’t met, the Admission can be terminated.
Neighbor Island – Travel arrangements will be made in accordance with the Admission team’s schedule. All flight arrivals must be during business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday). Click here for a list of items allowed upon entry.

Procedure for those incarcerated:
In Custody (Oahu) – A specific date and time will be scheduled through either the Correctional Center, Probation Officer, Parole Officer or Judge, in which our Admissions team will pick up the prospect from their location.
In Custody (Outer-Island) – A specific date and time will be scheduled through either the Correctional Center, Probation Officer, Parole Officer or Judge.
