Our clinical department is comprised of committed people succeeding in their
own recovery to help guide those new to the program. Habilitat helps people
transform their lives by providing the best treatment and recovery services
as well as education, training, and facilities available today. Residents
trained in our clinical department are supervised closely by the staff
and learn to care with a balance of support and challenge.Our
entire staff has gone through the Habilitat program and now continue to
guide the residents. Our clinical department plans daily schedules and
activities and aids in the monitoring of progress of the younger residents.
Under the mutual self-help concept, individuals assume responsibility
for the recovery, personal growth and right living of their peers in order
to maintain their own recovery.
The clinical department helps guide the younger residents and staff acts as role models and rational authorities, forming a caringsurrogate family that provides a corrective developmental experience. It represents a mirror through which each individual’s self-awareness is raised as the community gives continuous feedback. Peer influence is an important component of the program. Residents learn and assimilate social norms and develop more effective social skills through encounter groups, seminars, work assignments and the peer group process, all facilitated by the clinical department.
